ANgel Delgado

Angel Delgado is a multidisciplinary visual artist working primarily in painting and digital media. His work pulls from the gaping, never-ending watering hole of the internet and the absurdist fantasy of social media. Intrigued by the fleeting nature of trends, Delgado stylistic choices and imagery change with whatever resonates for him. One day, Hello Kitty; the next, circuitry. Delgado turns familiar imagery into a distorted, hyper-saturated world that feels seductive, diseased, and simultaneously anhedonic and euphoric.

Delgado’s paintings are consumerist slop with a taste for computer chips and eroticism. Fiending for a hit off of a burnt, mango-flavored Juul pod, he creates distorted universes where blasphemy and the omniscient concept of an algorithm coexist. His work lies somewhere between consumerist fantasy, chronically online horniness, and the desperate need to feel presentable, questioning what happens when doomscrolling clashes with executive dysfunction.

The young man has a focused expression, and the artist is wearing gloves and holding a tattoo machine. The studio has various supplies and equipment on the counter, with some colorful artwork on the wall.
